‘Your playing made our entire wedding party come alive’
George Clooney, October 2014
Richard Sully is one of the most sought after wedding and event pianists working in the UK today. He was resident for several years at London’s Savoy and has played at a vast number of hotels and venues in the southern UK as well as at establishments in many parts of the world during his career. He has entertained American Presidents, members of the British royalty and, among other things, was delighted to be asked to play at the British wedding reception of George & Amal Clooney in 2014.
He performed at American entrepreneur Elon Musk’s birthday party as well as at Queen Noor of Jordan’s 60th birthday party at her residence near Ascot. Recent engagements have seen him perform for the retirement party of champion jockey Sir A.P McCoy as well as an anniversary dinner for British Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Theresa May and her husband Philip. In 2016, he performed several pieces live on BBC1 as part of ‘Children In Need’.
Richard has played at more than two thousand weddings and private events during the course of his career. Covering all styles of popular music and light jazz including the great standards and music from film and theatre, he plays from a vast repertoire of material all of which is played from memory. He’ll undoubtedly add a ‘wow’ factor to your wedding or event and will immediately be able to play most requests your guests might make!
‘We’ve loved having you here with us today, a big thanks for playing our
favourite songs, it really helped make our ceremony very special…’
Max Whitlock MBE
Richard is now in his thirty-fifth year as a professional pianist and is more in demand than ever performing at weddings and events. 2018 will see him perform at private events in places as far away as Bangkok and Berlin as well as at venues all over the southern UK.
He can be heard most frequently at ‘The Vineyard at Stockcross’ near Newbury, where he performs weekly. Other places where he can regularly be heard are ‘Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa’ near Bagshott in Surrey and at ‘Danesfield House Hotel and Spa’ near Marlow in Buckinghamshire.
During his career Rich has been actively involved in writing and recording music. He co-wrote material for the 2001 British film ‘Arthur’Dyke’ with singer Leo Sayer and also wrote pop material which was executively produced by Mike Stock of Stock, Aitken and Waterman.
